Can a bird really fall in love with a fish? When there are other fishes in the sea, why will a bird settle for a fish when he can be with the other birds? Some say that when we are in love, we become fools, following our heart instead of what our minds want us to do. And maybe these is one of those who choose to follow what his heart wants and break from the norm. Maybe the bird is ready to risk it all and just fight for his love. Love is unlimited, anyone is free to love whoever they want to love as long as you’re not harming anyone. However, how can we be sure that whatever the bird feel for the fish is truly love? Not every story is like those fairytales that as long as you love a living thing it will end up in a happy ending. Because just like in any other story, there is always a villain or an antagonist in it. So, how can we really say that the bird is in love with a fish? There may be many reasons on how the bird fell in love with a fish, but one thing is for sure, the bird took pity on the fish before he fell in love. For instance, the bird may have caught sight of the fish dying because it is out of the water, he scooped up the fish and put it back onto the water. It may also because the fish is being preyed on by a flock of birds and this one bird decided to rescue the fish out of the situation. Or maybe because the bird is planning to eat the fish but decided at the last second to spare the fish little life. And eventually, they keep crossing on each other’s path that them being a stranger eventually became friends. Then afterwards, the bird came to realize that he fell in love with the fish. The bird also realized that a bird and a fish can never be together. They are living in two different worlds, and they are two different species. They don’t even have a single similarity that they share. The only similarity they have is the memories of them doing things together and maybe their feelings for one another. Both the sky and water are vast places in which you can explore aimlessly. Just like their relationship it has no particular on whether the two of them can withstand anything just to be together. Eventually one of them will give up and let the other go instead of being able to be together but don’t even know onto what extent they can withstand the hardships that they would face each passing day. In other words, love can conquer all but if the love for one another is forbidden and you are both hurting because of it then it is okay to let go especially if it will make you happy. It is really a joy to be in love only if you are happy with it. It is not called love if it’s painful and you are both hurting each other. Not everything can be a happy ever after story if you are both together. Being happy is about the contentment you feel whether you are alone or together. In conclusion, anything is possible in this world whether we loved one of our own or a different species. We can love whoever we want, wherever we want. Love can be a simple word with a simple meaning, but it can also be complicated. We all have our own version on what love means to us and we can say the same thing to the bird falling in love with a fish easily? In other words, how can we say that it is possible for a bird to fall in love with a fish?

Literary Analysis: Prometheus Unbound

Introduction: The title of the poem is Prometheus Unbound written by Jose F. Lacaba, it is about how in a place and time that is full of uncertainties, you must stand up and create certainties. The battle cry of those oppressed and they are going to find a way out of their oppressor. Only the small speck of hope is what they needed for them to have a will to fight. The poem is related to the story of Prometheus, how he is stuck in place because he is being oppressed for doing something that is good for humanity. Just like in the poem, the message relays the emotions one would feel by being suppressed of freedom. That even if you don’t have a chance to win a fight, you can and must do something to fight for your rights. Conclusion: The author utilizes an acrostic type of poetry that tells the message of what the poem is all about. The title of the poem uses a reference with the story of Prometheus that can be compared to the whole poem as well. That rather than subduing their ruler, they choose a path that follows their principles. The kind of approach that the author utilizes is social criticism that shows the injustices in society and power that the ruler uses to his people. The approach can also be reader response criticism because the poem can evoke emotions in the reader, and it can also be analyzed and criticized. In the first stanza, it has also a reference to Greek Mythology that the author referred as Mars and Artemis, in which Mars as the war of God also called Ares and Artemis as our mother earth. That the war of God is showing its might while the mother earth is out of sight to protect its people. The rust in the twilight sky is a personification that despite it being dark, in which I can interpret as cog wheels of justice that became rusty. And the next three lines I interpret as the rights of people being left in the dust. The second stanza, it also can be referred to Prometheus being bound in the rock, guarded by a vulture that tortured him. Just like the poem, the people are bound to speak, their movements guarded by the oppressor and their freedom can cause them their death. The third stanza, I interpret it as the contrast of the second stanza because it talks about how the people are willing to sacrifice their life in order for them to show their love for their country. That even if what they will do can cause their death, they are willing to die for them to prove the truth. And the last stanza, I can interpret as their sense of justice continued to spark, their oppressor is still trying to fight and keep them oppressed. The author utilizes literary devices such as enjambment that continues the sentence to the next line of the poem. The poem also has a perfect rhyme except for the 17th and 18th line. And the poem also consists of short sentences in order to give authority as well as emphasis in the message of the story. The main point of the poem is the message from the first letters of each line. It gives a message on what the poem is all about, the theme as well as the time it was written.
